Our Story
What Perenna is
Perenna is a print studio in Toronto. We make archival fine art prints on 100% cotton paper with pigment ink, one order at a time, and ship them across Canada.
The name is derived from Anna Perenna, the Roman goddess of the returning year.
Who runs it
Perenna was started by Roop Chhoker, who runs the studio. He reads every email sent to info@perennaprints.com, and personally prints, trims, checks and packs every order.
The studio
Everything sold is printed at our studio in Toronto.
One printer: a 44-inch Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4600, running the twelve-channel LUCIA PRO II pigment ink set, built for photography and fine art reproduction.
One paper: Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 gsm. 100% cotton, acid-free, buffered, and compliant with ISO 9706 for permanence.
Up to three sizes per work, each with a white border.
Nothing is printed in advance and held in stock. Nothing is sent to a fulfillment partner.
Where the work comes from
Every image in the shop today comes from a public collection and is out of copyright.
We print from the image file of the institution that holds the original work, not from a copy found online.
What comes next
The reason this studio exists is a programme for living artists: licensing work directly from them and paying a share of every sale. It is not open yet. It opens when the studio can run it properly.
If you make work and want to know when it opens, write to info@perennaprints.com.
